Our next spotlight features Brandon Jones, photographer with Brandon Jones Photography.

What is your studio’s name? Brandon Jones Photography

Where is your studio based? Denton, TX

Studio Website?

Are you currently a part-time or full-time photographer? Part-Time

What is your predominant photographic specialization? Weddings

What camera(s) do you currently shoot with? Canon 6D and 5D Mark II

How would you define your style?

I would describe my style as classic and authentic. I try to capture real moments and pose my clients in a way that fits each of their personalities. I also seek to tell the story of the day and keep the images clean and minimalist.

What motivated you to become a photographer?

When I was around 14 years old, I was depressed and was trying to figure out who I was, like most teens, and my parents encouraged me to use their Canon A-1 35mm film camera as a creative outlet. I had always loved to draw and create art, but I found out this was my calling. I loved learning about different photographers and techniques. Having this creative outlet was a huge blessing and it really helped me through some tough times and I still get excited to photograph new projects

.What is it that you try to convey with your work?

I try to convey a simplistic, natural beauty of the moment. Whenever I see the details of the wedding day, like the groom’s shoes or the bride’s veil, I try not to retouch the scene to keep the real moment in the image.

How do you accomplish that?

Whenever I see the details of the wedding day, like the groom’s shoes or the bride’s veil, I try not to retouch the scene to keep the real moment in the image.

Have you had a photographer inspire your work, and if so, who and why?

Definitely. Sean Flanigan has been a huge inspiration for my work. I love his style and how close he gets to his subjects. Also, the way the subjects are posed are just really unique. He is my favorite wedding photographer and I am always blown away by his work. It just has this nice, loose feeling to the photos that are one-of-a-kind and would be very difficult to emulate.

What is your most memorable accomplishment so far in your photography career?

Good question. I think it would be when I shot a family member’s wedding in Louisiana and then drove back that same night and shot a wedding in Denton the next day. It just felt awesome traveling like that and doing what I love to do, with my incredible wife.

What is one thing you have learned during your career?

I have learned that photography is unpredictable and that God is faithful. Also, you have to be flexible.

Which Photographer Supply Co. products do you currently use?

I love the Natural Wood USB drives and the 4 x 6 Print & USB Drive Wood Box. Both are wonderful and the box looks great with prints inside.

How have Photographer Supply Company products helped your business?

Yes. I believe it has made me become more professional with my brand and has helped me think more about what my clients might cherish for years to come.

Thank you so much for your time, Brandon!
