How would you define your style?

I always struggle with this question.  I think my style changes with each couple that I work with!  I guess you could say that my style crisp, clean, and classic…  I tend to prefer shooting in locations that describe my couples which I believe helps keep my photography authentic instead of providing my couples with cookie cutter images.

What motivated you to become a photographer?

I feel like it kind of fell into my lap…but looking back, I think it was always meant to be.  When I was younger I remember styling shoots with my dog and photographing them with a disposable camera.  I took some photography classes in high school and since I had no real idea what to declare as my major in college, I continued as an art major.  I photographed a few weddings for friends and their relatives throughout college and before I knew it, I was graduating college with a client base and a photography career.

What is it that you try to convey with your work?

I’ve always been captivated by photographs and the story that they can tell, I could get lost in a box of old photographs imagining that was going on at that very moment.  Being a wedding photographer, my number one goal is to capture the love and happiness between the couple and their guests on their wedding day, someday their kids will really love looking back at the photographs of their parents on that day.

How do you accomplish that?

I think approaching a wedding day as photojournalist is the best way to capture the real raw moments of the wedding day.  Sometimes, confining yourself to a list of specific photographs and stuffy poses can really take away from the actual day.

Have you had a photographer inspire your work, and if so, who and why?

I feel inspired by so many photographers in the industry but as of recently, I’ve been really inspired by Amy and Jordan Photography based out of Arizona.  Not only do they create beautiful work, but they have really made an impact with me when it comes to serving my couples with all my heart.

What is your most memorable accomplishment so far in your photography career?

I could list a number of things here…like be recognized or published…but in all honestly I think my biggest accomplishment is the fact that I have been able to build a full time business that I am so passionate about.  I hear people complain about their jobs almost daily but I am one of the lucky ones that get
to make a living doing something they love with all their heart!

What is one thing you have learned during your career?

Being an entrepreneur, especially a photographer where the market is incredibly oversaturated, you have to learn to always be on top of your game.  You must always be refining your craft, following wedding trends, and hustling!  I’ve also learned a lot about myself….like parent dances make me cry and that I love/need coffee!

Which Photographer Supply Company products do you currently use?

I am currently delivering my weddings on the Photographer Supply Co. mahogany USB drives with my name engraved on them.  The USB drives are presented in the Photographer Supply Co. linen boxes, which are gorgeous!  My couples rave about how beautiful their packages are and how easily they can display and store their products in their box.

How have Photographer Supply Company products helped your business?

I think the USB drives and linen boxes have simply taken my packaging to the next level and increased the professionalism of my final product substantially!
