Where are you based out of? Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Are you currently full or part time? Fulltime
What is your specialty? Newborn and Family
What camera? Canon 5d mark 3
How would you define your style? Clean & vibrant with a touch of whimsy!
What motivated you to become a photographer?
Both my parents dabbled in photography which inspired me, my dad passed down his film cameras to me; but I was also obsessed with fashion magazines as a teen!! I had my room plastered with my fave photos, I’d go to chapters and scour the photography books. I had my first photography & darkroom course in high school and shortly after we moved to a farm with horses and land. I practiced photographing my younger siblings & horses and I just kept falling more in love with the process and conceptualizing what I wanted to see.
What is it that you try to convey with your work?
Life, love, beauty! Those tiny, innocent and fleeting details of a newborn babe. The wrinkly skin, teeny lashes, curly fingers. The love, bond and unique dynamic that each family has for each other.
How do you accomplish that?
I get to know each of my families by having them fill out a questionnaire when they book that asks them all about their family likes, hobbies, talents. Where they see their session taking place and the feel they hope to convey. We then go over outfit ideas and final details. At their sessions, I do my best to make them feel at ease and natural but chatting and even sharing about my own family. People are so much more at ease with friends and so that’s what I try to be!
What do you do during a session or wedding day to help make your clients feel comfortable?
some things I have been known to do:
-bring treats and prizes for the kiddos
-tease the dad’s about how this is their fave activity and get them chuckling!
-chat with siblings on their own, at their level.
What is your most memorable accomplishment so far in your photography career?
I don’t know that I can pick just one, but being trusted by hundreds of families to capture their most precious little beings is up there!!
What is one thing you have learned during your career?
ONE?!!?!? Hmm, one thing that has had the biggest payoff for me to have a fulfilling career…. stick to your policies.

How have Photographer Supply Company products helped your business?
The quality and craftsmanship and simple, clean designs have set my business apart as a standout as well as given my clients a timeless keepsake and treasure to share with friends and family. They have shown my clients that even the final product is carefully planned, crafted and cared for.
How has packaging elevated your brand?
By separating my brand from the masses. I feel it shows my style, my love for what I do, that I want to give my clients artwork that will last a lifetime. It’s usually the final piece that the client does not expect to have such an impact and I get so many compliments on how it has completed the whole experience for them.
